It's been a tough day! I also learned today of the passing of a friend guitarist Chris Conner @ 39 of a heart attack in Atlanta! Chris and I played together many times! Softspoken really nice guy!

I have been sitting listening to Michael Burks and Albert Castiglia play at the Delaware Blues Festival recently...stealing some of Michaels licks! He was one of my favs!!!

RIP Michael and Chris!!!

My wife and I are gutted. We were just planning our trip to see Mike in 3 weeks and drop off his newest guitar (Mike just messaged me on thursday so excited about it).

RIP friend. I'm going to miss you more than I can express.

He was an amazing blues guitarist. Huge tone. I remember learning about him from the Dr. Z website about 10 years ago-I think he played the Delta 88 model with those custom Flying V's. Awful news. RIP Michael...

I couldn't believe the words...

The man had some of that serious, Luther Allison/Son Seals mojo, with a
totally committed, live intensity! I caught him last, at Portland's Waterfront Blues Festival, in Portland, on July 3, 2010...I befriended his wife, Bobbie, during my Facebook days...

My heart & prayers go out to Bobbie, his family & many friends...

WOW. I had no idea. I really love his music. Our band covers so many of his tunes.
RIP

Whoa! This is a shocker. I saw him in 2006 at a festival. Didn't know who he was then. He just blew me away!. RIP Mike.

Definetly a heartbreaker. Doug I thought about you when I got an email from alligator records saying he passed away. Hang in there bud. Mike was very talented and still had not peaked, way too young. The music world just lost a giant

rip Iron Man.... You will fit right in with the other giants up there. Its their turn to watch and listen.
