Digitech User's...

Are you happy with their Sound Community's patch exchange? Is there any demand for a Digitech-centric online patch database? I know there's a few online patch exchanges, just thinking out loud...

I use to use the shared patches for my GNX 3. I haven't downloaded any patches for my RP1000. I should. The guy named Singtail or something has some pretty good ones. I find the Rp1000 so easy to dial in that I really haven't had the need. And, I mostly use it in 4cm into a JCM 800, so I would have to tweak them anyway. But, I have some patches made in case my amp goes down and I have to run direct. With that said, I would be interested in something like that, though.

I've tried the patches on their and I've had much better success in dialing in my own tones.

What Schafrocks mentions has been true for me. 4cm rp1000 into VHT special 12/20 and have had to tweak them to make them usable, for me anyway. There are some nice ones though - theres Beck, Lovers, i think that I liked once I tweaked the reverb and delay

I'm a new GSP1101 owner. Where do you even go for patch exchange / patch download? Is it the community seciton noted on the Digitech Web site?

^^^ Agreed ^^^. I downloaded and tried quite a few when I first got my GSP and none of them have really worked for me. I've just resorted to creating mine from scratch.

I also agree... I tried downloading presets for my PODxt, GNX4, and RP1000. Downloading presets hasn't worked well for me on any unit.

Yep, because everyone's ears and guitar are different.

That's my feel as well. I've only downloaded a few tones back when I had my RP500. I actually thought a few were great, but it seems Digitech users in general don't have the patch sharing bug that Line 6 and Axe users have. Maybe its because Digitech stuff is so easy to program? Anyway just an idea which I really don't have any time to chase down anyway.

As I get older I grow more and more convinced that I do NOT have a good ear for music. Over and over again I find that my tone and touch are just not pleasing to the ear. Maybe it means my ear is getting better but my playing isn't. lol

Get you hearing checked. Seriously. As we age we all loose high end sensitively, and that is typically multiplied with us guitarists who have gigged and attended many loud shows over the years typically without ear protection.

One of the things I did when I first received my GSP was to reach out to Jason (buddaman71), and he generously emailed me a file containing a backup of his GSP. Now any of you who've watched Jason's videos or heard his clips know how awesome his tone (and playing) is... I couldn't get any of his patches to work with my rig no matter what I did. I don't know why, but nothing sounded right to my ears. That's when I started downloading patches off of the Sound Community patch exchange and noticed the same thing.

I believe jbealsmusic was speaking in jest, poking fun at his playing skills

I'm convinced that everyone else's tones are nasty... at least when I load them on my gear. Not to mention my use of the expression and CTL is pretty much the same across patches. It's just easier for me to copy an existing patch to a new slot and change amp and effects models from there.
