This McSoapwood Standard was a "rescue" and one of the very best guitars I have ever played. The frets were shot, and the original turquoise finish has ugly blemishes beneath the lacquer. I got it for a song, and decided to really make it mine.
I had it re-fretted and pleked by Larry Fitzgerald who also installed a new delrin nut. For the pickups, he installed a set of Lindy Fralin P90's (vintage underwound) and an RS vintage electronics kit to round it off. The bridge is original and it came with Tone Pro's locking studs already installed. The tuners are locking gotoh's. The guitar was refinished in Fender Lake Placid Blue by Marty Bell out in SoCal, and I mated the blue finish with some cream appointments. Totally killer, and one that I will never willingly sell!
