I'll be @ the Nashvegas show. Possibly IU/Bloomington as well. And yeah, SK is hittin' a new fretless Phoenix that Scott Walker built for him. Looking forward to it!

Hank, we may very well find ourselves in Santa Cruz, something tells me. Thanks for sharing, Mike! That Roger Waters show at ATT Park was amazing! Made me wish I still did real drugs.

I sat right next to Bernie at the Portland show on Saturday. He is an amazing musician. One of those people that can make an instrument "talk". It looked like Steve and the rest of the band were just giving him license to fly all night.
68 years old by the way and not a trace of slowing down in his playing or even his physical movements; he looked as quick and loose and agile as a 20 year old. /rick |

Aw dang, Mikey. These are all private, and apparently meant for your eyes only. Because...you are truly special. Seriously.

He always makes that Gibson L-7 sound so good.

Did a gig w him last year where he played the Gibson most of the time. A lot of the time he played it standing up, no strap, just sort of cradled the thing like a violin. Played it in stereo through two completely ordinary Fenders, a twin RI and Bassman RI, and it sounded like angels singing.

yeah, I saw him play last year in Pittsburgh, and that guitar was his main player all night long. Always loved Kimock. Really enjoyed the tour he did with the Rhythm Devils.

Pretty good show last night in Nashville. The band came out strong then an unnamed guy took the stage into the first set to get Andy and Wally some water. Next thing I know he's got a set of sticks and starts playing some of Wally's drum set. He continued the whole first set, then came back and preceding to actually oust Wally from behind the kit and started playing (with NO idea of Kimock's songs). I drove 5 hours, have been trying to see Kimock for about 10 years. The second set started getting very sloppy and I finally got fed up and left pretty disappointed.
For a fact, Steve did not know this guy and I'm pretty sure he and Wally weren't acquaintances. I drove and paid to watch Kimock, Worrell, Ingram, and Hess. Unfortunately for the most part thats not what happened.. The opener SIMO was unreal. Keep your eye out for these guys. JD Simo is a bad man. Last edited by Holliman; 05-23-2012 at 01:50 PM. |
