Wow! are those plugs for the F holes? Did they come with the archtop or bought separately?

Cross1026, Yes they are Doug's plugs. They didn't come with the guitar I bought them some time later. You just make a paper stencil and mail them to him and he mails you the finished plugs back. They have to be adjusted a little with a finger nail file. They are very effective. http://www.dougsplugs.com/

AaeCee, It's a Bill Comins Concert model. Built in 2002. It is a really amazing guitar. He even potted the pickup in Ebony.

wow! thats a very sexy instrument. how does it sound amplified with the plugs? does it come close to a carved archtop with set in pickups ala L5?

Thanks for the info on doug's plugs. just acquired a Campellone recently and its good to know the plugs are available if ever I need them

P.S. more pics of the Comins please!

That is definately one stellar looking guitar. The plugs are cool looking...never seen them quite like that before, but then again the closest to a hollowbody I have is a chambered Les Paul :-)

The pickguard appears to be of the Benedetto style.

Now I see.

Looks like the guitar has yellowed nicely with age. My Gibson is nearly blonde now, having started life as a "natural".

Comins made the pickup? It looks like a Benedetto pickup.

Good luck with this one. Probably something you'll keep until the day you die.

I have seen people put Bigbys on archtops. Painful for me to see.

sounds like a line from a song by the Red Devils

"She's Dangerous"

I got to tell you
When I get a chance
‘Bout a girl I know
And my best friend

He loved a woman
And put her down
Went talkin’ trash
All over town
The girl’s dangerous
Hell yes she’s dangerous
She’s 36-24-36
And she got a big ol’ bag of tricks

Now later that night
At half past 4
I got me a shock
Walkin’ to my door

Was the same chick
Lookin’ fine as can be
Lyin’ in my bed
Makin’ eyes at me

The girl’s dangerous
Hell yes she’s dangerous
She’s 36-24-36
And she got a big ol’ bag of tricks

(harp solo)

Now early next morn
Knockin’ on my door
Was my ex-best friend
Told you about before

He heard a voice
From the other room
I didn’t see nothing
I heard … POP boom boom boom

She’s dangerous
Hell yes she’s dangerous
She’s 36-24-36
With a big ol’ bag of tricks
