Taylor 315ce acoustic/electric

I have one, it's used and I'm the original owner. I would say it is in mint condition. I've never taken it out and always left it in its case when not used. How much would these go for? I've got some general idea, but I'd like some opinions. Thanks.

which generation of pickup system does it have? If it is an earlier one, I'd say about $1000-$1100... maybe a tiny bit less if it is the AA battery model. If it is the newest ES system, maybe $1200 or so. The 15 series are more rare so that could push the price a little higher if you find someone looking specifically for it. I've never even seen a 315CE up close and personal. FWIW, you can easily find the 314CE used for under $1K with an earlier generation of the ES system. I've seen them as low as $800 with the AA ES system and lots for $900-950 even with the first generation 9 volt system.

I just bought one. Pre ES. The guy had it on CL for $1200... he had offers at 1100 and 1000 and was holding out. I managed to get him at the right time as I got it for $1000... just yesterday in fact. He needed a trolling motor for his boat so wanted to sell it yesterday (it's victoria day weekend in Canada.. he was headed for a long weekend at the cottage.) He even drove it to me at work (he was about 35 minutes from my office.)

Thanks guys. Royd, it's a 2003 model, so I'm guessing it is an earlier pickup.

does it use the AA batteries? If so, that is the 1st generation of the ES system. I don't know what the years were...

No, no batteries at all. As far as I remember, I've never put batteries in it.

The three knobs suggest it has the Expression system, and it will be the first generation. If you've never plugged it in then you'll have had no use for this, but the two AA batteries will be in there, and it's time they were changed. You can access them next to the strap button at the base of the body.

I have never plugged it in, maybe 3 times in the last 3 years. I used to just like to strum it right out of the case, which probably shows why I'm not that into it anymore.

Remove the battery cover, if there are AA batteries in there remove them and make sure batteries did not leak.

I paid $1200 for a 2010 used 315ce w/ latest ES (w/ Taylor case), all in like-new condition.

If you just want to sell it outright (not a trade-in) you could start at $1000 to $1100 and see how it goes. If no response, reduce your asking price.
