Re. the Yanuziello, how does the combination bridge/tailpiece compare sonically with the separate trapeze tailpiece that Bill Frisell has on his guitar?

According to Joe, the tailpiece on mine gives a bit more sustain. The one on Bill's looks like a floating bridge, but Joe actually anchors it in the same spot as the one on mine. I haven't played Bill's or played with him, so I haven't had them side by side. Nor have I had an opportunity to play another Yanuziello with the other type of tailpiece. When I picked mine up, he'd also just completed a Chiffon Yellow one that had the same tailpiece as mine, but had single coil pickups instead of the little humbuckers I have. It was a little louder and rawer sounding than mine, in comparison. And that's the totality of my experience with Joe's guitars.

Yep, they just confirmed it on their facebook page that it is indeed a LC with special appointments for Bill.

I like it with the binding and the dot inlays past the 15th fret. . .looks more like a traditional 335. I'd like to have one like that but with dogear P90s. . .

I saw Bill last night at Village Vanguard. He played his custom I-35LC and sounded really good.

Looks like an Ameritage case. What a beautiful instrument! Unique, classy- I am envious, sir.

The music or the guitar? This wasn't a post on Bill's music but an example of him using the Collings.

It doesn't really work for me, either. The overall rhythmic and harmonic structure is too rigid and predictable. Also, the acoustic guitar is much louder than Bill's.
