NAD - 1960 Bassman

I thought some of you may be interested in seeing this 1960 Bassman I recently located and purchased. The amp is in excellent overall condition and sounds like a million bucks!

Wow that thing looks CLEAN. Those caps look untouched - maybe bring it in to see if you need a cap job, just in case?

I hope to record some clips soon.

I brought amp to my tech (a long time and well-respected amp tech/repairman on L.I.) Usually, he would recommend a few things that needed replacing. After reviewing the amp with me, it appears that, other than tubes, nothing was ever changed on the amp. Original handle in great shap and date matched speakers as well.

He said to me, "just leave it alone, it's one of the nicest, best sounding Bassmans I've ever seen." The large caps are fine and the amp is dead quiet!

I'm not one to baby amps (I gig regularly with either a 1964 Super Reverb or 1966 Vibrolux with an old ES-355 or 1970 SG at niteclubs, bars, beaches, etc.), but I think this amp will be staying home and played there. I hate to say it, but part of this purchase was really as an investment. If there is one amp that I could see appreciating significantly down the road, it's an "all there" Tweed Bassman.

I'd love to hear some clips.

I recently got a reissue - 59 LTD (works great) and would love to hear what an original sounds like.

Holy smokes! That is beyond awesome. You better play that one. Too cool to just gather dust.

Ugh, GAS pains.

That amp is a widely known serious electrical hazard and needs to be immediately sent to me for proper disposal.
