Here is my Set Neck (#015) along with its Grosh family members. The SN is a great guitar. It is from one of the early runs, so it's very heavy.

Apologies for the poor photo quality.

Thank you, it arrived this morning. I have been playing throughout the day and it is amazing! This is my 2nd go around with a Grosh Set Neck. My 1st one was slightly chambered. I sold it to buy a R8, which I played for a couple of years. I loved the R8 but always wanted to try a true solidbody Grosh Set Neck. I recently sold the R8 with the intention of tracking down an early Set Neck and one popped up for sale on eBay right away. I can't imagine a better Les Paul style guitar. It plays so nicely and sounds out of this world. I personally prefer the solidbody vs. the chambered because I have a wonderful semi-hollow in the mix already. The solid one is unmistakably a L.P. .. perfect. It doesn't feel that heavy to me .. about 9 lbs.
You can't go wrong with one of these guitars: solid, chambered, semi .. just pick the one that will suit your style and enjoy it. Incredible guitars.

Congrats to everyone posting pics of their gorgeous Grosh guitars. I'm seriously considering placing an order for a Grosh DG-193. Can any of you guys with a Grosh set neck comment on the upper fret access? I have a Collings I-35, which, in general, I like a lot, but I really have to contort my hands to access the upper frets, much more so that with a LP, for example.

Also, for anyone who has a semi-hollow set neck, can you let me know if how acoustically loud it is? Comparable to a 335? A telecaster thinline?

No experience with a DG-193 but I can tell you upper fret access on a DG Set Neck is 100% available with complete comfort.

I have been told by a dealer that Don Grosh is trying not to take orders for new Set Necks because they are so labor intensive to create.

I love mine.

I was told that Don moved shop from California to Colorado in August of 2005, began light weight relief of all Set Necks at this time, starting around serial #70. These are awesome guitars indeed!

I used to own. Didn't love the pickups and sold it. Should have tried some new pups.... Fantastic guitars!

While I've never owned a Collings (plan on cruisng their booth at NAMM), I can say that the set neck and DG-193 are identical shapes, with equally great neck access.

Hope that is bad rumor about no more set necks, as I'd really like to own a DG-193, and have enough to order one. Will be checking that out.
