That's pretty easy. Just email Joakim from his website, and he'll tell you.

What I like about the Nord, specifically the boost, is having the boost separate-
I use the boost alone to enhance other dirt before and after. I really like the effect of the Fetto part with the boost, especially with the boost pre-gain, but I use it just as much (or more) without the Fetto side engaged... |

What does the boost sound like by itself? Is it dirty when cranked? Does that dirt clean up with the guitar? The problem I see using the Timmy to drive the Fetto for instance, is that the Timmy doesn't clean up well, and might hamper the Customs ability to clean up while being boosted (which it already won't do as well just because it is being driven so hard). But I haven't yet experimented extensively with the Timmy to see if that is really the case.

It's a clean boost. I like it because it provides some high end clarity and adds some sparkle. I run it at about 2 o'clock, so pretty high. It also acts to tighten the bass without getting honkey like a tubescreamer

I would think it would be hard to beat the internal booster in the Nord as it is probably pretty well optimized to its purpose.
I did play with the Timmy over lunch and got pretty good results. The Timmy's eq option really work to its advantage as a stacker. Still it didn't add much to the high gain equation. It just made things a little throatier at backed off volumes. I did however also try a Hotcake in front of the Custom. Drive down, and volume doing most of the work. Wow! I really liked that. It cleans up better than the Timmy and adds that Hotcake magic to the lower notes. It was cool. Stacking is always a noise issue with me and there was some hiss. Also this is just a (fairly loud) bedroom check. Won't say anything for sure until I play out. But that Hotcake has never let me down. It really impressed me this afternoon.

I'm in love with my recently acquired Nord+.....yes the + model with external switches for presence and mid (No.012
)I play with multiple guitars so having these switches external is a great help. I don't want to gush too much, but I was able to play it at practice AND in a gig situation this past weekend. It passed all tests with flying colors! I bought it as a replacement for my OCD and it really did everything I hoped it would. It has a ton of gain on tap, amazing dynamics, super smooth but still has edge (if that makes sense), the OCD low end - but controllable with internal bass trimmer and the best part....played GREAT with all my other pedals. The bass control on the outside would have been icing on the cake and, for my needs, probably more useful than the presence switch, but very minor....still couldn't be happier. |

Last night renewed my affair with my Fetto Custom - very dialable and easy to use live last night - sounded fantastic.
Gramps+ is also excellent and fits in a lot of other shades - but mine is up FS as I prefer the simplicity of a basic fuzz. |

Fetto Nord is my new favorite pedal. Couldn't dial it in at first, but later turned the Mids on with the internal jumper and that saved the day. Something magical in this thing because my Super Champ XD was sounding sterile, was about to give up on it, but the Nord always on gives it more harmonic overtones. The boost post-OD acts as the clean channel and can also work as a pre-OD boost for my HBOD after it. One on eBay sold recently for $220...wish I would've figured out the pedal in time to snag that.
