I have to admit to being puzzled about the incremental utility & sound quality of using all those external effects & pedals with an Axe FX II (or Ultra or even STD). Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

I know I know - you need that specific flavor of effect -X-, it's your rig, your sound. Whatever it takes to be inspired and happy. I have a fetishistic aversion to complexity.

I was using the pedals manually with various amps, I've since sold them all off along with a few amps in an effort to downsize my gear get some focus into my rig. Control wise I'm probably going to go with liquid foot as I want a controller I can use with analogue and digital but not 100% sure yet.

There are guys using pedals with axe fx quite successfully but yeah I've never found the need.

Either FBT 12MA or KRK Rokit8 for volume, (but I need something Better) The POG lives on top of the KPA cause nothing Does that sound.

Here's what I'm using.
2 Audio Technica wireless units feeding 2 GSP1101's.
The speakers are Seismic Audio 12's with built in power amps that were surgically removed from a pair of Kustom powered monitors. They were cheap and they really sound good.
The top GSP is for electric guitar and uses Redwirez IR's. The bottom GSP is for the piezo in my CE24. Both GSPs go into a Behringer Xenyx 502 mixer (in the back of the rack) and send a mixed stereo electric/piezo signal to each speaker.
The Rolls rack mixer is for the DI to the FOH. The left & right GSP's XLR's
are mixed to one signal that is fed to the board.
The Kitty Hawk MIDI patch bay is currently not being used but it gets hooked up when I need to add an acoustic guitar into the rig.
The Digitech Control 2 controls all of it seamlessly.
This is the most versatile and best sounding rig I've ever had. I'm really happy with it.

Thought I'd actually get round to taking a pic of my rig. It's very much condensed from what it used to be and it's as close to a tube rig as possible but with the benefits of digital FX and switching.

Guitar>tube preamps (Kingsley tube preamp pedals)>HD500>DT50>Orange 4x12

After seeing the Vafam Patch Bay/Interfaces on the Fractal Forum I got inspired and decided to make one of my own.

Awesome.

The tape delay works well with the Kemper?

Do you have different patches depending on using the Power Engine or the Vox AC?

How did you mount the GSP1101 into the top of your Seismic cabinet? It doesn't look like this is a stock model from Seismic (unless it's something they've discontinued).

BTW - It looks like you have a Radial Dragster mounted on top of your cabinet. I have the same setup with the Dragster and the GSP1101 (and also the iPB-10).
