Something about it, has a little bit more toughness. It's same chassis as the M class.

470 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque

I like the lines on the GC better.
It's not the exact same chassis as the M class and and they only share about 15% in parts.

Do you really think Mercedes allowed Jeep to know everything?

Personally I like the Mercedes AMG better inside and out.

There is nothing I miss about the car I had 3 years ago let alone those boxy station wagons from the 60's and 70's.

The merc is nicer inside for sure.

And yes, I think they knew everything...same design team and it was supposed to be a shared platform. The GC was supposed to come out after the M class, but jeep and Daimler split.

I'd like to know what's different....obviously the drive train, but what else.

Suspension geometry is gonna be close.

I'm not saying the m class is a dog, but it is a dressed up GC.

It needs that vinyl wood paneling down the side, then it would be total stud!

The Jeep is several magnitudes better looking.

Voted dud for the over-priced, status symbol, station wagon.

My wife would do all the things she used to do before we got married if I were to get her one of these.

She's a long time station wagon driver and car snob and she would hound me mercilessly for one.

It's not coming to the States, right?

Interesting considering the median income there is only $108,000.

I have to agree. Those sloping backs just look like a sloppy design. May be good in the wind tunnel, but just doesn't look like; especially at that price point.

i am impressed by efficiently engineered, thoughtful, creative products that are responses to actual problems and vault significant engineering hurdles.

this is a 500hp station wagon that will, in many cases, never exceed its capabilities. there's no fun, progress, or practicality in that. i like to imagine what could've been accomplished if the engineers and designers responsible for this project were directed in a different way. we'll never know. all we're left with is this silly, expensive idea wrapped in an uninspired array of sheet metal. i am not impressed.

They should have squared it off instead of sloping it toward the rear. That would have maximized cargo capacity and allowed for a rear door with easier loading.

Would a 4x12 or two make it through the rear door? i'm not so sure.

Pretty sure you could fit one 4x12 plus a head, 2 guitars and a gig bag in there. You'd get to the gig first.

The looks seem to combine brutal futurism, a touch of elegance (the timber bits inside) and an unfortunate helping of cheesiness.
