RIP Perry Baggs of Jason & the Scorchers
Nashville mourns!
http://www.pollstar.com/news_article.aspx?ID=802038 Perry Baggs, 50, drummer and songwriter for Jason & The Scorchers, died at his home in Gloddlettsville, Tenn., after a long battle with diabetes. His body was found in the home early July 12. Baggs co-wrote some of the Scorchers’ best-know punkabilly tunes including “White Lies” and “If Money Talks.” Jason and the Scorchers reunited in 2007 for a pair of shows at Nashville’s Exit/In as a benefit for Baggs, and the band received a lifetime achievement award from the Americana Music Association in 2008. --Deborah Speer

RIP Perry. My old rockabilly band played a few shows with The Scorchers back in the late 90s and I was a big fan prior to that. They left it all on the stage every time I saw them and In a perfect world they would've have greater commercial success.
