Would you guys feel comfortable buying B-stock gear on ebay from a dealer with 100% feedback?
Like a digital mixer?

Yes. I buy a lot of B stock stuff. As long as it comes with the original warranty and there's a service center nearby, there isn't much, if anything to lose.

Sure, as long as there's a warranty.

I bought few B Stocks from a eBay seller called Unique_Squared. All have been good.

B stock means different things for different companies. If you know what the particular company's (I mean mfg.) definition of B is, it's anywhere from questionable to OK. I knew of one company that used to put their B & C stock items through a more rigorous QC process than regular production. In light of that, I'd maybe even prefer those instead of NIB A stock, as long as warranty applies.
Be sure to ask if the item in question is a factory B stock, or if it's considered in house B stock by the retailer. By that I mean a return that a mail order/online place or big box retailer took in. Some of those are scary. I actually had a customer that wanted a particular guitar, ordered it from a well-known online retailer, and received something obviously not first-rate. So he returns it, and a few days later gets the same guitar back. We know this because of the flaw in question being the same. He made arrangements for a return, and put a piece of tape inside the control cavity to identify it. Upon receiving what's supposed to be guitar #3, it's the same guitar again.....After that, he demanded (justly IMO) a refund, and washed his hands of dealing with that outfit. In light of that, that tells you what some operations' OC amounts to. So I would say buyer beware, and find out exactly what you are buying. As a retailer myself, I often wonder how much stuff that is sold through mail-order that is actually A stock. There have been many times I would get a B/C/Reman list from a mfg, and see a significant quantity of a particular item, only to call in to order some, and it ALL be sold minutes after the list was released. I'm talking about mass quantities of items, only something a large buyer could digest. This is one of those things where finding someone trustworthy to do your business with trumps saving a few $$$. Y'all be careful. The less questions you ask, the less most places will tell you. K |

I might be about as well off just getting a used one on ebay from a 100% feedback individual.
But the problem with that is it might have been a B-stock they bought on ebay themselves. I found this out by asking a guy selling one on ebay where he purchased it.

If you buy Bstock from an authorized dealer, not some random eBay dude, it should have the full warranty. Not all manufacturers handle it the same though.

Pick a seller who is a authorized retailer for that brand and make sure the item is warranted. If they are not a authorized reseller than its just used gear with no real warranty. Any warranty or repair in that case would be solely at the sellers discretion.
Ask any questions before the sale. |

If its gonna fail its gonna fail early. Some 'authorized' dealers move new gear, or gear that left the store and did not make it pass the 30day return window (aka b stock). This happens a lot more than you think with new gear. I have been blown away by some 'b' stock deals where it was minty fresh. YMMV and you should feel comfortable doing the deal. But fret not.

I have also purchased several pieces of gear from Unique_Squared. They are authorized dealers for everything they sell and it (should) all include the factory warranty.

sometimes companies call it B stock so they can get around minimum sell prices set by the MFR. I'd do it if I were you
