help with little wing
specifically this cover
at about 1:49 or so I can't figure out what he's playing. I must have watched it a hundred times! Please, if you can tab it or somehow explain to me what he's playing I would be a very happy camper. |

It's actually a common blues move, involving a slide on the G string up to the 4th fret (so you're hitting the note B), then play the 3rd fret of the adjacent B string (which is the note D); then you end the lick by sliding on the G string (use the same finger) back down to the 2nd fret, and pull off to an open G, then play the D string 2nd fret.

wow, so much easier than I thought, I don't know why I couldn't get it. Inexperience I suppose, but thank you for the response!
![]() p.s. can you believe I figured everything else out up to that point just by watching and I couldn't get that one move? crazy right? |

If I had a nickel for everything that was difficult as heck till the right moment came along for me to 'get' it, I'd have a lot of nickels.
That is good vid for learning the song!

yes, it is a great vid for learning! I didn't think I would make it as far as I have, but thanks to this vid, I'm almost done. It's been a great learning tool for bluesy tricks and jimi style playing in general.

can neck bending be harmful to the guitar? I was wondering about this after I read your comment, but I can't seem to find much on it. I like the sound it produces, I don't use it much, but I have been using it for this one.
