New ones are not slated to be made by machines, AFAIK.
They just won't be made by Bill himself like the old ones were.

Nothings to say the old ones will hold their value either, who knows.

When the new one comes out, there may be less demand for the old ones. All it takes is a few current owners to decide they will accept less money on eBay in order to sell, and the "value" changes accordingly.

Thumbs up

As of this date, December 22, 2011 - exactly two years after I stopped accepting orders for the original Centaur - there finally seems to be more and more light at the end of the tunnel with regard to the future availability of the new Klon overdrive. The design of the new unit has been completed (for quite a while now), and the unit itself will be produced, according to my specifications and detailed instructions, by a very-highly-regarded contract manufacturing firm.

The first production run is now in the process of being scheduled, but realistically, the soonest the new unit could be available for purchase is perhaps two months from now, and it may well be a little longer than that. At some point between now and then, this site will be revised to include a link that you will be able to click on if you would like to receive e-mail updates whenever further information is available.

Thanks for your patience during what has been a very long and difficult process, and feel free to get your hopes up about the new unit - it sounds the same as the Centaur did, is considerably smaller, and is also pretty cool aesthetically for those of you who care about such things.

Regards,
Bill Finnegan

I'm starting to think that this new Klon is never going to come out.

This is especially a good point because Bill's essentially creating a clone...the most "official" clone but still it's not the original. Anyone that's played a vintage amp and compared it to the reissue will probably tell you it's not the same and that sometimes the outsiders do it better especially if they're willing to go beyond the original rather than stay 100% accurate.

I would be willing to bet the new ones aren't going to sound like the old ones. Even if they do someone will claim they did a side by side comparison and they don't. I wanted a new version back when they will first announced however, I have since lost interest. Wanted an aluminum falcon but getting one of those is just as bad as trying to get a new klon.

I have to agree on this. If done right there's much better attention to detail in terms of quality and sound. This goes for any pedal.

Sometimes a mass produced pedal will come along and get it right in all the departments, but boutique handmade pedals seem to hit the nail on the head much harder and more consistently if you know what I mean.

The thing I like about handmade analog pedals is that they all seem to be different, like they each have their own character or soul.. if that makes any sense.
