Both GMP and GMW will make you a killer Firebird.

Mike Lull makes a great one too, but... it's a bolt on, and $3500.

Yeah, I've thought about the Lulls. There's a white one at theguitarsanctuary.com; if it was desert burst I probably would've bought it. They have Lollar minihums that I'm sure would be amazing. But I can't try one out, and If I didn't like it I suspect the resale value is low, especially that Bird lovers will bring up the bolt on and say it's not a "true" Firebird.

Don't forget Ian Anderson at www.iaguitars.com

His website only shows the Standard he's building (Can't wait to get mine!), but he also builds a great Flying Vs, and ( I believe) Firebirds and/or Explorers, along with other models, like strats. Very well thought of on this site, do a search for his thread. Then give him a call. Great person to work with. Super guitars.

The others listed might be nice but Kauer's are above and beyond. Besides support a TGP member who knows how to build guitars that are now being used by several pro level touring players. Highly recommended.

I keep changing my mind between doing a full-blown Firebird and a Strato-bird like the Tele-birds shown here.
