I got my boiling point today and I am blown away. Ever play od's and think there is something about it that's just not quite there... Not this one. I've had tons of od's such as OCD v2, keeley mod plus and baked, sparkle drive, maxon od9, ts9 and 808, and many more nothing is as clean and dirty and transparent. Every setting sounds killer. Worth every penny. Can't wait to try stacking it with other pedals and try it at 18v.
Go buy one you won't be disappointed.

^ I heartily agree. An outrageously good overdrive. Love mine.

I feel like an outcast but lately I haven't liked mine that much. I think it's great for smooth singing lead tones but ive never had good experiences with it as a rhythm pedal. I like that it has a lot of gain and does wall era tones pretty well.

That sums up my experience with overdrive. Either it's lower gain than I want for leads and perfect for rhythm or vice versa. I can usually cope by changing my touch, but I wish I had room for 15 overdrives on my board.

I will resurrect this thread with an observation/question. So I have had a boiling point going on a couple years now. I got it from PGS and it is killer. The second I got yesterday, and it is killer as well. My observation/question is that in the plexi mode on the first pedal I don't notice as much of a volume drop as much as on the one I got yesterday. I mean there is a drop on my original box, but not as much. It is noticeable. Anyone else here have 2 bp's and notice the same? Just curious.

Expensive pedal, but I guess you pay that price for a good pedal

Actually I would recommend a used vfe alpha dog if you can, I mean new they are affordable too. If you like a Bp you will like the alpha dog, if you love your Bp you would really appreciate and love the alpha dog. The range of great drive sounds is awesome. The build quality is immaculąte esoecially at that price point. Get one with a discount from prymaxe vintage.

Just tipping my hat to a great builder. Peter is a phenomenal builder. I first got the Enterprise phaser and was totally blown away. Then I got the alpha dog, whoa! will it replace a Bp ? No, not for me. But if someone wanted a great versatile drive pedal for a great price, I would seriously think about getting one. Btw the phaser is the best phaser I have used to date period. It is crazy great!

I had one for a while and wasn't overly impressed. Then I started using all sorts of different OD, Distortion and Fuzz pedals, and kept coming back to the Boiling Point and realizing how clean, musical, and pure sounding it was. It's also no one-trick-pony, it can create some very different tones and be used for many different purposes. So when at one point I thought I would sell it, I now think it will be the very last pedal I would sell of all my dirt pedals (and I got a lot of those). Reviews are all over the Internet, as are some videos, but this is precisely the kind of pedal whose nuance cannot be appreciated until used in person, especially comparing next to another pedal, and that is when you will hear the difference. Problem is with all these boutique pedals, where the heck do you go to try them out, especially to compare them to each other, .....not too many places. I like Proguitarshop because they let you test stuff out thru the mail (Im on the other side of the country), but I think they also count on my laziness in not sending stuff back, or me finding some use for each pedal I try. To summarize, at least with my Fender amps and a variety of different guitars, I doubt you'll find an OD pedal that does more or sounds better than the Rockbox BP, but there might be some less expensive ones that come close enough (Mojo and Timmy come to mind).

Hey fair play mate. I was just teasing as I know you love your bp as much as me!!
I have heard very good things about the vfe pedals, walrus audio also are becoming very well regarded! These are good times we live in! Some amazing gear for steady money.

I absolutely agree that you begin to really appreciate the boiling point after you have experience with a lot of drive pedals. The only problem is that I want to switch between all of the settings often. I don't think I would mind if the pedal were bigger which would allow for foot switching between all of its settings. That's precisely why I got 2. I have had exactly 55 drive pedals, yes I counted. The only ones that I still use are the Bp , kot, screwdriver and most recently the alpha dog. Never was much of a rat guy, but I like this one. It also has that quality about it where I liked it the second I played it. These all stand out for me.

Dude I totally got that, lol! I'll have to look at walrus audio. I am getting gas for a basic audio scarab. Yes we live in amazing times for gear. I love it!
