I'd go YJM.......the Shiva is a great amp, but there is just something about those plexi tones that do it for me. Plus with the features, it looks to be a killer amp. Lot's of very positive reviews. That's the one I'm holding out for.

Not even close for me. Bogner 20th Shiva. it covers WAY more territory and it's pure tonal bliss both on the clean channel and the OD. The OD can get nice and bluesy to down and dirty to super crunchy. Great for ryth. and leads.

They YJM is more of a one trick pony IMO. Great plexi-sh tone (which the xtc does in spades on the blue channel BTW) but that's all I heard from it.

Shiva, and I like the YJM.

The Shiva has a beautiful clean channel, great and versatile drive channel.
The tone is juicier, reverb tasty, effects loop works with pedals...

There is nothing that the YJM does that the Shiva can't do, but the reverse is not true.

Well I may be in the minority here but I thought the Shiva sounded horrendous. At least the drive channel. I got a chance to play one a couple weeks ago at a local guitar shop and I was really disappointed. The cleans are great but the overdrive channel is way too compressed, fizzy, just sounded bad. Almost like it wanted to be high gain but something was causing it not to be so it sounded really weird. Could have been broken amp for all I know but I was not impressed at all with it.

I'm guessing low volumes? The Shiva likes some juice

It depends,
If you like versatility, shiva. If you really want old school plexi tones, YJM.

YJM for me but I think the Shiva is one of the most overrated amps of all time.

Curious was this a 6L6, EL34, or a 20th Anniversary Shiva? I've had two of the non 20th Shivas and I thought the 6L6 sounded the best.

The non annv is a completely different amp...FYI. Out of the two, I guess the Bogner. It will cover more ground.

Get an xtc. Plexi tones are just a piece of the amazing tones available. Sounds better all around to me...except cleans, which I barely give to Shiva.
