Ultimately, All These Amp Disagreements Don't Amount To...

...a damn.

I was reminded of this playing for the first time in a couple of weeks due to a problem with my back. I wasn't thinking about amps, or cabs, or guitars, or the almighty TONE.

I just wanted to play. Played better than I had in a long time. I didn't think about my TONE for one single second. I had a ball.

Reminding me once again why I play guitar - it isn't to achieve TONE. It's to have the sheer joy of expressing myself on the instrument.

Sure, all this TONE stuff is great, and don't get me wrong, I'm into it on most days, but really, the point of all this is to play music.

You can do it on just about anything if you're into it enough. None of these "my amp is better" arguments mean shit when it comes to having that wonderful, basic experience of playing music.

Just thought I'd say so.
