Gibson Dave Grohl model coming

... basically a modified Trini Lopez.

From GC's website...

With a set mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, diamond soundholes and Burstbucker pickups, this Dave Grohl Signature guitar is perfect for Foo Fighters fans or anyone who wants the versatility of a semi-hollow electric. Hard rock, classic, pop, swing, billy styles and more are all fair game with this beauty. Built around the comfortably-sized ES-335 body, you're likely to find yourself using this axe for just about everything you play. The 50s neck shape is easy on your hand whether you're playing chords or lead, and the combination of Grover tuners and the fixed bridge keep tuning time to a minimum.

From his days as the drummer of Nirvana to his guitar and lead vocal work with his band Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl has been a powerful force in the music world.

Gibson Dave Grohl Signature Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Scale Length: 24-3/4"
  • Neck Joint: Set-in
  • Neck Wood: Mahogany
  • Fretboard: Rosewood

  • Nut Width: 1-11/16"

  • Pickup Neck: Burstbucker 2
  • Controls: Volume / Volume / Tone / Tone

I'm really into the Pelham blue lately. From what I can tell it looks to be a model worth owning even to those who don't like signature guitars.

Any idea of how much they will be priced?

sweet guitar. Dave's a good guy, and an even better drummer (that's saying a lot). And I love Trini's. (I wonder if there's a Trademark issue with Gibson not mentioning the guitar's heritage? probably).
If only it came in red... [edit: apparently it comes in black though. nice!]

Photo looks like one of those Vegas Standard models that they've been selling for the past year or so.

Yeah...that's what I want.

A drummer's "Signature Guitar".:AOK

I believe I recall Dave's comment that "Guitarists are a dime-a-dozen. That's why I learned to play the drums."

man...I'm glad they picked up Dave on this one...the Tom Delonge and Billie Joe Armstrong signature guitars were ridiculous...finally they pick up someone I can actually respect as a musician.

No inlays or ebony with block inlays would be fabulous.

I really dig it too, but weren't the original TL Sig models 25.5" scale? I'd be all over one of these if it had that scale length, mega chunky neck, wider neck width, and maybe a Bigsby (although they can be retro'd). I dig the color a lot too.
