The Murf or seekwah
well - just finally getting my pedalboard done.
Should I leave a MURF & Seekwah on there or just the murf /vice versa. I'm confused. I need someone else to decide, if I had my way all 58 of my pedals would be on 1 gig.. heh

Hey man! I actually JUST got a seek wah II today, and while it can do a few of the things the MuRF does, it sounds more natural than the MuRF. I wish there was something like a "mix" control on the seek wah. I'd say have both on if you can, but the Seek Wah is ALOT smaller. Both awsome pedals, IMO.

if the board is for live gigs then use the pedal(s) you need for the set. if the board is for home you can always switch them out whenever the mood strikes you. in fact, ever since i left my band i got rid of my board. i just mix and match whichever pedals i'm in the mood for that day, could be 3, could be 30.

If you've got room and need the versatility, use the Murf. I had the same debate b/w the Murf and the Ooh-Wah. The ooh-wah was a nice fit, and though it sounded different, the Murf did more.
I also think the Murf can sound a lot warmer or synthy with the available tweaks. |

What I do is to run it in the B loop of my Boss LS-2 Line Selector, with nothing in the A loop, and set the LS-2 to 'A+B Mix'. Now you can use the level controls on the LS-2 to bring the level of the Seekwah up and add clean sound, and turn the whole lot off with the Boss switch. (Which also means you don't have to get your foot anywhere near those delicate little pots on the Seekwah.) OK, it more than doubles the pedalboard space it takes up... but it works so much better like this I'm thinking of sacrificing one more pedal just to get them both on.

Thanks for the tip, John! I'll look into that. It's odd that Zach wouldn't put a power tap into this pedal... I'm probably gonna' send mine to Cusack to have it modified for tap tempo, and he also adds random mode, like on the Ooh-Wah, so I think I'll ask him to also add the power thing... Thanks again! Cheers.

Well - Im tossin in the even bigger question now.
My pedalboard has room for 3 moog pedals, 5 zvex. aside that its big like 40x20 big Now im thinking I could swap the murf, leave the seekwah. Put in a moog Ring mod in place of the seekwah and get another sound on the board.

swap the moog out and you lose the utterly cool cv control options. Side aside, the no brainer for me is to keep the moogs all on board.
