My new board; What would you add?

After months of research here, purchasing the Boss M50 and Line 6 M13, and selling them both. Ive decided that tone is the most important thing so I put together my own $1000 pedal board from scratch using only true bypass pedals. I use high end American Made Gibsons and Fenders and use a Marshall DSL100 so I feel I have the ultimate gear for awesome tone. I play in a mostly classic rock cover band. Anyway, I have room for a few more pedals on my Pedaltrain jr. What would you add? Please - only true bypass stuff. Im thinking of a Retro-Sonic Phaser next.

My Board:
Fulltone Fulldrive 2 FD2 Mosfet $160
MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay $129
Analogman Clone Chorus w/deep switch $207
Korg Pitchblack Chromatic Tuner $75
Diamond Compressor $135
Pedaltrain jr w/ Hard Flight Case $150
VOODOO LAB Pedal Power 2+ Power Supply $159
----------------------------------------
TOTAL: $1015

I would suggest:
A digital delay. I run a DL-8 with my CC, and they fit together nicely. It is surprising how many times I run both.
A Fuzz, or another type of dirt.
A buffer. If you're running all True Bypass, you're losing signal. Check out the Barber B-Buff, or any other dedicated buffer.

I really dont have a need for a digital delay, I love the MXR, no need for more delay.
Fuzz Id consider but probably wouldnt use it on much.
How am I losing signal? Will look into the buffer thing.

With the DSL are you running it clean and using pedals as dirt, or running it dirty and using pedals as a boost?

I think if you run it clean you have more pedal options.

Else, Boost, fuzz, modulation, delay and it's done.

I just recently trimmed my board down to tuner, fuzz, od, phase, delay. Happy as a lark. I run an SG Standard into a '76 Marshall JMP set cleannish.

I need a volume pedal though...

Godspeed,
Tim

I have 2 channels on the DSL so one is clean and one is dirty, that takes care of that issue.

With the amount of cable you are running from your guitar, and through all of your pedals, just that alone will cause tone loss, not to mention from your pedals to amp. Try sticking a buffer in there. Dan (this1smyne) makes them, and I hear they are stinkin' amazing! Great guy to work with, and he'll get you fixed up quick. They are made in little boxes that would fit very nicely under your PT Jr...

Korg Pitchblack Chromatic Tuner
Wah (insert favorite brand here)
Fulltone OCD or Danelectro CO-1 drive
Mk.II Fuzz of sorts
Diamond memory lane 2
Boss DD-20

Analogman Clone Chorus w/deep switch
VOODOO LAB Pedal Power 2+ Power Supply $159

added the Bold items.

if your into analog delays check out the diamond memory lane or memory lane 2, kick ass modulation, tap tempo- just an all around awesome unit- you can get them used from $300-450, solid pedal worth every penny and possibly the best delay for classic rock, cops floyd stuff really easy and does great echoplex style repeats with the modulation dialed in almost at max, does the jimmy page stutter very well..

and of course I've added a DD-20 because the DD-20 does just about everything solid that the ml2 or ML cannot do, ping pong, looping, etc.

A good germanium fuzz and possibly a treble booster.

I think you missed my question... I'll cut right to it.

Are you using the Marshall's distortion or hoping to use pedals to make distortion?

If you are happy with the Marshall's dirt and don't need a ton of versatility, then Tuner, Boost, Delay will cover 99% of what you'll need.

A lot of people here are recommending dirt and fuzz that you may not need.

Thanks!
Tim

I use the marshalls distortion, sounds killer, so no I dont need dirt pedals. Some cool suggestions on here though, thanks, will look into a few. Considering the OCD. Theres space for a few pedals so Id figure Id get some more sounds. Dont need anything crazy, just some things to round out the board.

A booster, like Electro Harmonix LPB1, Catalinbread Serrano picoso or Chili picoso, Keeley Java Boost or Katana, Fulltone Fat Boost, etc.

Vibe: Voodoolab Microvibe, Fulltone Dejavibe, Foxrox Aquavibe etc.

Cool stuff. I was considering a boost, although I believe my fulltone fulldrive 2 has one. Are there different kinds?
