you younger folks may not remember him. the first time i heard him was when i was a little boy. my older brother played me "i'm drunk again" by paul butterfield IIRC. it was just packed with emotion.

well later on he put his own band together and put out a few great albums. i remember seeing them open for marshall tucker and they blew them right outta the building. i probably hadn't listened to them in 25 years until yesterday. my buddy gave me a bottleg from 1976.

talk about a funky/fat groovin'/get up on yer feet kinda band that was just screaming with energy! michael "fly" brooks was one of the fattest in the pocket bass players ever.

anybody else remember these guys?
