Chuck D'Aloia's Blues With Brains DVDs!!!
So, I bought the first DVD of Chuck D'Aloia's series, BWB (=Blues with Brains) a couple of months ago and, oh man, this is the ticket for me! I've been in a deep rut for a very long time and really sick of my same old, same old blues lines. Chuck puts the keys to the kingdom on a platter and serves it up, easy to swallow in one sitting, or so. So, I got his second and third lessons, the last of which is way deeper and will keep me occupied for a long time. But it only took days to get some of the pearls for jazzing up blues lines integrated into my playing. You get shortcuts that you can immediately integrate into your choppage. By the third one, you're getting down to the basis, the elemental parts of it all. It's what I've been craving for a long time. I've heard pieces of those lines in Robben's and Volker Striffler's playing and wondered how to get there from here. Now I know. Or, at least, I know where to start. I'm just having such a good time sounding like I am actually a better player
. So, I see that there's a holiday special on Chuck's stuff and thought you guys should know about it. http://www.chuckdaloiamusic.com/id2.html Such a deal!! And no, I don't work for Chuck. Not on the payroll. Just a very happy customer here to tell you, you need this! Well, not everyone (metalheads might gravitate to something else).... But for bluesers who want to tap into the elements of jazz that make blues lines rich and interesting, you can thank me later. jon
