What is your favorite two point Strat trem system and why?

I worked great and was very supple which I like. The more supple the better for me (at $40 I can just buy one whenever I wear one out I suppose). I replaced the saddles with Graphtec steel with teflon bearing edges and that cured a serious and frustrating string breakage issue.

I'm curious what you guys use and would recommend. I have Strats with vintage trems but I am looking for a super supple floating two point system for this guitar for doing Beck style stuff.

Hipshot Contour with a steel block set floating. Smooth as silk and it stays in tune with a delrin nut and locking Schallers. But its around $120.

Gotoh 510TS, either with solid saddles (which I prefer) or bent. Great feel and I really like the arm attachment that let you control the height of the arm and the stiffness of how it turns.

That looks like mine. I guess the only question is the steel in the knife edge hard enough to out last three of the one I'm using? If so it's the better choice...

When comparing which is a better option, don't forget to add some for the hassle of buying and changing and setting it all up.

True, just doing it once is preferable. If I do use the same bridge again I can use the old one as a guide. I've done this and it's pretty quick...eyeball saddle heights and positions and fine tune them when the guitar is strung up. A new brand or design will be starting from scratch, but that's ok if I like the trem.

Well, I doubt the GFS has the same trem arm attachment or locking bridge mounting studs, but I could be wrong. After one experience with a cheesily made GFS part, I'm content with spending more money and knowing I'm getting something good.

It's actually pretty well made, surprisingly. The arm attachment is very good with a set screw to set the tension and height but the studs just thread in and don't have locking screws so that's a definite plus for the Gotoh.
