Who am I to Judge?

The other guitar player in my band wants to sell his blackfaced 70's Vibrolux Reverb and buy a new Hot Rod Deluxe instead. He says he hates the way his VR sounds and feels, and the HR Deluxe he played last month was everything he's been missing.

I'm finding myself having to deliberately not start suggesting speaker changes, tube changes, etc. I'm the kind of guy who likes to tinker with something until it's right. He's the kind of guy who just wants to turn it on, plug in to it, and not think about it... and that's OK. It's OK to prefer a modern PCB amp over a well-worn, vintage handwired amp, right?
