Jimmy Herring....man, this guy can rip....so a question...?

I know there have been lots of other threads regarding JH, but I just downloaded the MP3s of WSPs show in LV from last week. Jimmy just rips on it. AFAIK, he plays through a Fuchs TDS. How does he get such good sustain/feedback? Is is strictly from the amp? Or does he use a pedal? It is so readily available and so touch sensitive.......can anyone shed some light on this?
