SG Classic - Open G

Has anyone ever used an SG or SG Classic to play in open G tuning? I've been searching for that perfect tele (with no luck), but came across an amazing SG Classic that was very fun to play in standard tuning. I'm a LP guy who has been looking for a guitar that will handle the Keith open G thing as well a being a solid rock/blues player.

I also tried out a Reverend Six Gun recently. That guitar seemed like like a nice guitar for the price, but don't know much about them. Thanks for any words of wisdom guys.
