Tonbender and Ch jump

last night I was playing at 8 on a 50 watt jmp. The TB does not play well with a cranked marshall. I had not jumped the amp in ages so gave it a shot. i notice that with the JMI Tonbende at 12 0'clock, and a max guitar vol I got a lot less issue I alway get from a TB with a marshall running hot. Any one have any idea on why i noticed this?
