If your problem is a herniated disc, I am not sure they can help. I really can't answer that. But, if you're one of us who experience "episodes" when a disc bulges or slips some, then by all means try one if you can. I recently bought an inversions table, and I have not been to my chiropractor since April, the time of my last episode. Really want to stress, they may not be for everyone, but, in some cases they can work wonders.

One other thing to consider.

If you have issues with your lower back, most people report great results. If your issue is with your neck or up between your shoulders, you probably won't see much benefit. The weight of your upper body is enough to stretch your lower back. The weight of your head isn't enough to put a good stretch on your upper back.

I have a Teeter (brand)..
I have had a broken neck and a few back missalignments over the years from racing motorcycles. (just "ride" now)
The teeter helps when i get back pain or my neck feels like i need to give it a crack (like people do with their knuckles)..
Makes my back/neck feel better.. seems to realign things.
being upside down might bother you cause of the pressure you feel in your head .
I use mine about once or twice a week. DIG it!

I'm thinking about getting one myself. I'm in the midst of a lower back issue, and just got the MRI. I go back to the Dr. on Friday for him to give his final opinion after seeing the scans. Physical Therapy has already started, and they think it's a bulged or herniated disc. Here are the scans that concerned the gal that did the scans:

Just wanted to update...I've had the Ironman Gravity 4000 for about a week now. Picked it up on Amazon for $181.

I really like it. Feels great to really stretch the lower back and a great way to work the abs too. I've been using it a few times a day. Don't know about long term, but it sure feels good while I'm on it.

This unit is pretty heavy duty and will handle up to 350 lbs.
