Here's my one and only Warmoth build - completed about 6 months ago. I love it, it's the perfect Tele.. apart from a bit of paint I burnt off when I dropped the soldering iron on the body. Not quite complete in this pic, but it's 100% done now.

Ive done a Warmoth doubleneck Strat 6 string/slide, an L5 s. Korina and a few Strats. I also had them do both neck and body finishes. They all came out to be incredible guitars . But I've been doing my own setups for the 15 or so guitars that I play for at least 20 plus years. The set up is the key for these kit type guitars. You also have to know what tone you want and what woods will give you that tone. And the bridge type is important. I like warm tones so I use Koa and rosewood necks and alder, korina or mahogany bodies. Bright guitars have maple tops and maple necks ect. It's a science but it's not rocket science.

Doing my first one now....

I'm really impressed with the quality of the parts Warmoth sent. I'm doing my own finish work, tru-oil, with canned lacquer for the headstock.
It's got a few more coats on it now, but essentially, it's still at this stage.
Doing some inlay work on the headstock, waiting for the Roadhouse pickups Ken's building for it.

I've done four part-o-casters. Three with Warmoth necks and one with a USACG conversion neck. I learned that I prefer 6105 frets to 6150 and if they're doing the nut, specify E - e width...sigh. All four easily allowed me to set the action too low without extra work.

I made this one a while back. Walnut body, mahogany/brazil rosewood neck. Dumped a bunch of cash into this and never really bonded with it. Im pretty sure it was the choice of walnut for the bod. Now it sits stripped of parts. The neck is fantastic and ill use that again, does need a refret though. Im not sure what ill do with the body. Too bad that hunk of walnut was like $400.

I entered Warmoth with the attitude that I really didn't want a "traditonal" sounding guitar. Bought a hardtail black Korina body, 2-piece Brazilian neck, Callaham hardware. amd Fender CS '69 pickups.

The verdict, according to my life-lomg friend Lspaulsp, who has been playing live since he was 12, was...

"That's the most Strat sounding Strat I've ever heard."
