There is always some flyback in a tube amplifier. When using an inductive load this is relatively obvious - the energy stored in a deflected speaker coil does not simply disappear, nor is all of it dissipated via heat or mechanical work, some of it inevitably goes right back where it came from.

I used to think there was no flyback with a purely resistive load, but in a thread involving a particular brand of resistive attenuator/re-amp device one of our true amp gurus pointed out that actual output transformers are not ideal transformers and so can generate flyback even with resistive loads.
