Classic Microphones Neumann & RCA ~ (Photo's)

The Blue Bottle release date; 1996 with the B3 large diaphragm neutral capsule ~ B6 large diaphragm modern presence vocal capsule ~ B7 the 1950's classic vocal capsule. These bayonet-mount capsules can be exchanged to provide different tonal characteristics and pickup patterns while the power supply remains on. The Class A discrete amplifier circuit of The Bottle is designed utilizing a single hand-selected EF86 pentode vacuum tube in triode mode. SPL 134 db (Fastback Studios, Seattle, Wash.)



Neumann U47 (x2) release date; 1949-1959 with the M7 capsule and from 1960-1965 with the K49 Capsule. The U47 is the first large diaphragm tube microphone switchable between cardioid and omni-directional with an SPL of 110 db. (Fastback Studios, Seattle, Wash.)



Neumann U48, release date; 1957-1959 With the M7 capsule and from 1960-1965 K47/49 capsule. The U48 tube microphone is technically the same as the U47 except that you can switch from cardioid to a figure-8 pattern. The U48 also has an SPL of 110 db. Large diaphragm (Fastback Studios, Seattle, Wash.)



Neumann M249 release date; 1961-1974 with a remote polar pattern control from omni to cardioid to figure-8. The M249 tube microphone is a modified version of the M49. The M249 was designed for broadcasting and now used for recording studio applications. The SPL is 114 db. Large diaphragm (Fastback Studios, Seattle, Wash.)



RCA 77DX (x2) release date; 1954-1973 The RCA Type 77-D Poly-directional Microphones MI-4045-F (Release date 1945) and MI-11006-C are high-fidelity micro*phones of the ribbon type which may easily be adjusted to obtain a variety of directional patterns. SPL range 144 to 150 db (Fastback Studios, Seattle, Wash.)
