Powered mixers with 3 amps (left mains-right mains-monitors)?

What options exist? I know of this Carvin model but that's it. Any other choices? Thanks.

The mackie stuff (808) has that option, and the larger behringers will have them.

my band has the 12 channel version of that Carvin unit. Used it for many gigs, although it has since been demoted to reheasal PA duty. It works fine for us and sounds decent, if not great. If you can get away with only a single monitor mix its a nice solution for a grab n' go PA for small gigs.

Must be the very old EMX units. Mine is probably 10 years old and it is 2x500 watts.

Why not get powered speakers instead?

It's time now for a new main PA.

Thanks for the replies. It would seem a two amp powered mixer w/more power than my ancient Yamaha PA will be my best bet.

Sorry Jon, your options are very limited if 3 amps is a requirement. Carvin is the only company I'm aware of that makes a powered mixer like that.

I have two Carvin powered mixers. One is the 12 channel with 3 amps, the other the 16 channel board with 4 amps. Both are very useful. I don't either one has the horsepower for a rock band with lots of stuff in the main mix if you intend to use all or most channels unless you add a sub, so I'd wonder how you would use either one (context, style, room size).

If you are mostly putting vocals in the mains with maybe a bit of kick and snare you'll be fine. If you want the whole band in the mix I'd say add a powered sub or two ( not so much for volume but for fullness).

I use the 12 as a rehearsal PA. We could get away with it for a small room not requiring drums in the mains. We use the 16 for most gigs. We typically use the internal amps for monitors and use external power for mains and subs, it works very well.

I would advise against this course of action for a gigging rig. It's pretty limiting and you will end up compromising on the quality of the mixer and the amps to get this feature. You'd be far better off with a passive mixer and some powered speakers.
