I usually go to at least one a week, often more, interesting rock, free improv, world music (for lack of a better term), opera.

My wife and I recently supported a local High School event that featured a number of different bands and we had a great time. There was an Americana band featuring musicians that have been part of the local scene forever, a marimba band, an Alt/Atmospheric band and a '80s pop style band playing (possibly) some original music. Everyone was great! I wasn't optimistic hearing so many people here condemning new songs and local bands, but I was really impressed with what every band brought.

It left me feeling optimistic.

I think all Dave was saying is that if folks other than your friends & family are into your music, then you're on to something. Seemed pretty cut & dry to me.

You're absolutely right. Also, keep in mind that I'm talking about artists who approach me about getting signed, on the radio, etc. Because of my experience with previous labels and the success I've had as an indie, I'm approached quite often.

Got Cha.. I didn't mean to offend (if I did) as I said, probably just my foul Mood or my inability to interpret inflections with the written word..
