r.i.p. Chip Bargas

Chip was a local drummer here in south Louisiana who passed at the young age of 31. He played drums since he was 3 years old. He was a great natural talent with the ability to span many if not all genres. He began playing in these southern cover bands at a very early age. He then played in garage rock bands as a teenager. After highschool he attended The Players School of Music in Clearwater,Fl where he studied jazz. He continued in various music endeavors throughout the years. Of course he was not limited to drums though, he was proficient in guitar, keys, and vocals as well. He always played whatever he could get his hands on, the trunk of a car,his mouth, you lol. This ability was coupled with his relentless energy and playfulness which was transcended to those around him. He his in part responsible for my passion for music. I did not seriously play an instrument until he and I embarked on a friendship that grew stronger with music and self-expression. I am now an avid guitarist for life with no borne talent, just a want for that old enthusiasm he was known for and the need for a truly unique emotional outlet. Dont let people which you have shared special moments with get away from you down the paths of life. Reach out and reconnect; it is our memories, relationships, and experiences that give us our humanity and makes us who we are. My prayers go out to your family and friends. We will miss you dearly as you were one of a kind.

R.I.P. Chip

Thanks,
D. B.

I had the privelage to have Chip as a close friend and share the stage with him countless times with different groups in the area. Such a great talent and person. His energy and character shined and lifted those around him on stage and off. He will be truly missed. RIP Chip
