Do you have any evidence that she doesn't?

I can't think of a guitarist who is more "one with the instrument" as BF. He simply wrings the sound out of his guitar with his entire body. As mild and soft-spoken as he is, he is completely fearless when playing.

I put my opinion out there,
It made sense to me and I stand behind it.
You just gotta live with it.

To say that Mariah never achieves the same vulnerability is a statement that can't be backed. There are millions of people out there, including myself, that has been touched by her voice.
I am sorry but I don't see any similarities between Billie Holiday and Bill Frisell at all. What are they?

You don't need to apogise that you don't hear what I stated.
Just a late nite opinion. Not the deepest thought I've ever had,
You just gotta live with it.
Relax on the confrontations please, it's not court.

Here is an article about Mariah's vocal-range-I am sure there's a lot more out there if you are interested.

Good to read Neil's out there doing his own thing too ...
Just as I envy that he has a good steady paying gig with Wilco

Heh. The poll is actually kinda amusing since he's been doing his own thing since the mid-80s at least...

I suspect you'd probably enjoy at least some of the Nels Cline Singers stuff:

Simply put, Bill moves me emotionally, I don't really care to know why
No other guitarist has done that quite like Bill for me.

Once I saw Bill play by himself, no effects except verb and ambient delay
When he was done,,, dead silence, you could hear a pin drop.
Now he was playing with Russel Malone who got great responce from the audience.
The question is "why did Friz get the silence as a response. BTW he was fantastic.
I feel to break the decay of his last note that went on was like sreaming out during a
marriage when he's asking "do yo take" it would have been inappropriate.
It was the only time I've seen an audience respond that way.
Talk about tapastries hanging in air
Amazing, I asked Malone about it and he responded "church" and laughed.
BTW - the first tune was fast and linear and as out as you could get and Bill played
fast and matched Russel "in his way". Malone is great too, my first show with him.
Very notey like Benson, very hip and a totally cool guy that is always laughing out of
being happy, that was infectous.

For sure, of course ... totally dig the Cline Singers ...
My issue is with Wilco as a band, kinda really doesn't involve Nels ...
Never liked the band even before he joined them ...
But Nels loves playing with those guys from what I've read ...
so who am I too comment really ...

had to throw this clip at this thread, there was Frisell love here and this clip is sensational from just 3 days ago

http://www.npr.org/event/music/15800...port-jazz-2012

this encompases several things I love the trio music of paul motian that included frisell and lovano, and the keith jarrett quartet of the seventies with paul ,charlie haden, & dewey redman, a little sonny rollins, not mention the fine playing by the Bad Plus and the master himself. could listen to this daily

Julian Lage and Nels Cline did a duo concert in NYC recently, featuring all music written by Nels specifically for that duo, where Nels could do all his prepared guitar and looping stuff and have Lage react to it. My understanding is that this is in preparation for a recording.
Little snippets are emerging as they start to tour:
