Hello to all from London!

Hello to all.

I joined about a week / 10 days ago and have really enjoyed the knowledge and banter on this site.

I live in London, was born in Italy and lived in the US for sometime. Began playing guitar in 1987 and have picked up a nice collection of stringed instruments over the years.

I began recording through FOB taping of the Grateful Dead in the early 1990s and then expanded into jazz. I had the dubious pleasure to helping Dick Latvala organize part of the Grateful Dead Vault in 1992 and started the Medeski Martin & Wood Archive in 1996. Released live recordings of MMW, Tonic in 2000 and Electric Tonic in 2001.

I love my guitars and my collection includes:

- a Moriarty Wolf and Phiga Wolf
- Gibson 1959 Les Paul Junior, Gibson Les Paul 1959 Reissue, Gibson Les Paul Class 5, Gibson 1979 ES-335, Gibson SG Classic, Gibson SG Faded Bass
- Fender Custom Shop La Cabronita 2 pickup, Fender Custom Shop 1962 Strat, Fender Telebration Thinline Telecaster, Fender 1952 Reissue Telecaster
- Martin OM-28v and Martin D-18 Golden Era
- Fender 1971 Bandmaster Reverb head, Fender Blues Deluxe with Extension cabinet, Zilla Music JBL D120 2 x 12" cabinet

I hope to be a worthy member of your little community and look forward to participating. I have already gotten so much out of it!

Thanks to all
F

Hello LONDON & UK !!!

Can reviving a thread in lieu of starting a new one save electronic trees? Or is that only in the electric dreams of electric sheep?

Anyways... HIYA! I'm not new to TGP, but am brand spanking new to the UK!!

Am curious about non-virtual Neighbors... I'm here because I found this lovely British lady who inexplicably said 'yes' and now we're all hitched and expecting our first... Love this country so far!

But where the heck can you get real pancakes? Love crepes and all, but now and then I need me some good ole griddle hot cakes and maple syrup. I've been to two places claiming "American Style Buttermilk Pancakes" ... I've only just been out of therapy. Luckily I know better than to fall for "Philly Cheese Stakes" here...

Anyways... HiYa!

So far I only have the what I could smuggle on the plane... Sandy has delayed my 'boat' so the rest of my belongings (sadly very little) including most of my gear is "delayed" ...

But... here is what I have on hand to tide me over

1978? Greco Les Paul Copy w/ SD JB and Jazz ... mmm

1 Years Old This MONTH - Ron Kirn Barnbuster!! She of the OLD PINE loves the British climate so far... She's never been more resonant or 'Live' in my hands... or perhaps it was just the two month purgatory without her when I briefly returned home to ship out the rest of me stuff...

1977 Fender Deluxe Reverb w/ AlNiCo Tone Tubby and lovingly rewired back to black face specs ... Sadly... the step down transformer is on the boat, so she taunts me ...

1971? Fender Bronco ... also frustratingly just out of reach waiting for same... also reluctantly for sale now ... but I'll not use this to pedal so no link...

Everything else is on the boat in transit ... for at least another 4 weeks... whaaa.

Cheers Mates!
