AMT CN-1 Chameleon Cab

FINALLY A CAB-SIM IN A SMALL BOX! Found a great demo courtesy of Burgerman666 (he posts here sometimes). Looks/sounds like a great solution for what many have commented on wanting/needing.

CN-1 demo starts around 1 minute in...

Looks like a good execution of a great idea. The tones are pretty good.
Although it is a gross oversight to not have an XLR out in a box like this

It would be better for going direct to the board, which is how a lot of people would want to use it.

Well I guess you can always use a DI box with an XLR out...

What info are you looking for? They are out and available for sale. AMT's distribution is not the best so you have to dig around a bit to find their stuff. There's some on eBay, a couple of other online stores, etc.

Sure, but you'd think they would have included it because it's designed to be played through a FRFR system (as per their description of what it does).

Historically the use of tube amplifier loaded on the speaker system with one or several special guitar-intended speakers for guitar channel has been a standard. The frequency response of such a system is much more limited in frequency range compared to broadband acoustic systems used in home stereo systems or headphones.

Mine arrived yesterday. I've spent a few hours with the Zoom G5, Eleven Rack preamps (cab modeling disabled) and Tech21 TM60's effects loop send through CN-1 last night. It is good.

I've found the amp modeling on the new Zoom's very very good but cab modeling not that much. In this regard CN-1 helps a bit to deliver better direct sound with the Zoom. It's not night and day better, but better.

Eleven Rack's cab modeling is clearly better (although, the only one useful to my liking is the "4X12 Greenback 25" sim).

In the past, i tried Palmer PDI-09 (a couple), ADA Microcad II, Behringer GI-100(still have this one but not using anymore). CN-1 is better than all these analog cab simulators. However, digital has the edge for cab simulation in my book (Zoom and GSP1101's default cab models are worse by the way).

If you want a small, handy tool for live gigs, it is a very usefull. If you need this tool for recording, forget it, get the Two Notes Torpedo PI-Free.. although it gives you one cab, one mic, one poweramp, it is better than anything i've tried. And it is FREE..

By the way, general tonal character of CN-1 is kinda midrangy, a little eq AFTER cn-1 to cut some mids helps a lot to smooth things out..

All of these are in my humble opinion for sure..

... I have also a Zoom G3 and in a live situation always wanted to use in same time the TRS output( with cab modeling disabled) for my combo amplifier used like stage monitor and the XLR balanced output with cab sim enabled for FOH mixer, but on Zoom G3 can't be enabled the cab sim only for one output type separately. One posibility is to use a DI box with cab sim, like de H&K Red Box, but...
So, it is posible to use de AMT CN-1 between the Zoom G3's XLR balanced output ( with cab sim disabled) and the FOH mixer ?.. And how sound the CN-1 with the high gain amp models from G3?
