Has a lot of Options with the toggle. And sounds great. Price is right as well.

Alpha Dog. Versatile, well made, reasonably priced.

Get a Rat 2. Change the op amp if you feel you must.

I've done that 4 times so far, but people keep buying the damn things right off my board.

If you can solder, you should check out the BYOC Mouse. Fun to build, versatile (6 clipping options), and sounds fantastic!

I have a whiteface in the mail. Chosen because of the great reviews and if it's all the same, I would rather have the original than a clone.

I have a few rats... and the best is the original vintage. They are a bit harder to find and more expensive, but it sounds better - less fizz, tighter.

Full disclosure - I've only heard actual Rats, not the others (FreakShow Brown Rabbit, Jam Rattler, VFE Alpha Dog).

I've played a lot of Rats, and the WFR is the best I've ever owned, heard, or played.

This is the ONE case where I think the original is the best.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not very familiar with the Rat. How similar is the Rat to the Maxon SD9? I have one of the Maxons, I didn't know if they cover the same ground.

I'm trying to find a pedal that will blend with the Goodsell S17 the way I want.

Proco White Face Reissue. My favorite to date for dirt pedals just does everything well. Have not had an amp that the Rat did not like. I have many Rat pedals and this one sings in my book.
