Its a profile of the steavens poundcake, and yeah, its very much 'Best of Both Worlds' era.

I traded my kitchen sinked Bray modded plexi reissue for a Bogner Shiva.

I would say the Bray modded plexi reissue was great but not sure it was a perfect clone of VH1... very very very good though.

I agree... but you'll have to find a way to profile his playing too

That Steavens Poundcake must be one hell of an amp, it is used several times in several different profiles and they all sound VERY good to my ears.

For the record, Best of Both World is still his old plexi, not a 5150

i thought i would share a great vh1 tone i found on my kemper.
and its a factory pre-set no less.

here is what im doing:
im using the monitor out on the kemper.
running that into the power amp in on my solid state amp.
then,into a 2x12 with greenbacks.

you must tweak the pre-set a little bit.
adjust the tube sag,and the pick attack, also the reverb.

the factory pre-set is BLACK CEMETRY.
im not surprised this sounds so good,i found out the amp is a steavens poundcake.
also, one other trick is to use this pre-set two ways.
one with the cab sim on,a little darker and smoother.

the other way is with the cab sim off.
more in your face vh,and the pinch harmonics really scream.

i hope you will try this out and it will bring a smile to your face as well.

and lets keep this thread alive with more van halen tones for the kemper!

Stratotone posted a Van Halen Kemper profile of "Running with the devil" that was eq tone matched from the track using ozone.
Find the profile in his signature link. Here is stratotone's original thread.
