Is my LSS reverb broke?

Hi, does anyone know...I can't find in search, nor on clips on youtube. The reverb in the LSS is supposed to be the best etc reverb etc etc we ever heard (magazine review). I have one, played with the connectors, leads, driver tube.
Full up, the effect is subtle at best.
Nice, but subtle. A hot rod deluxe reverb at 2 is the same.

Is this right? Should it be a wash of spring reverb at 10?

Thanks to anyone who has one before I go on another trouble shoot...

You should be getting a lot more reverb than what you're saying. Check that the RCA leads from the tank haven't been swapped at the chassis. If that's not the issue, then you got some work ahead of you... maybe.

It's always tricky to describe sound in text, but when I had a Lonestar Classic and Special, I found the reverb to be pretty subtle as well. Mesa does not voice the mix of their verbs like Fender does. I always wished I could get that totally washed out, shoegazey thing out of it but it wouldn't do it for me. You can typically get that sound out of a fender no problem. I did have an issue in a classic once where the RCA cables were bad, but the reverb didn't work at all at that point. You basically have 3 things to check:

Reverb Tube
RCA Cables
Tank

I would try to find another one that you can check out locally though if you can. If I still had mine, I would make you a clip. Best of luck to you!

The one I had had a very deep reverb on 10, too much. I found I had it at like 9 o' clock on the dial most of the time and that was enough. Definitely something wrong with it.

I put a 12AT7 in to give me more control over the vast amounts reverb. Sounds like yours is broke.

I love TGP...thanks for the expertise, really appreciate it.
Sounds like it is broke. Zwish, I have taken the tank out, swapped the cables for ones from my hifi. No change. I haven't reversed the leads I don't think. I will try that.
Cahnging to a lower gain tube to control the reverb...well I wish! I have tried to find one local, but no joy.
I think a new tank is called for.
Once again, thank you
Jack
