Good Guitar Techs in Arizona
So for years I have taken my guitars to a place called Guitar Electronics in NW Phoenix AZ. Always was and still am very happy with their work but a couple years ago I moved to the east valley area of the Phoenix metro area. It's over an hour drive to Guitar Electronics now and would like give someone a try closer to the new house. Any info is appreciated.

Guitar Electronics is my favoret place here in the valley, but to others I have used and like are the guys at the Music Store in Mesa, Next to Hollywood Ally, Its Price and either baseline or Southern. Or Bronson Guitars in Scottsdale both have done great work on my guitars, but I will only take my amps to Guitar Electronics. STAY AWAY FROM BECK'S GUITARS! The guy used to be great years ago but now seems to lost it. He misplace my accoustic for a week and did less that stellar work on a broken LP Neck I had.

You could always take them to Roberto-Venn. The main instructors there are top notch luthiers.

Guitar Electronics has moved out of that facility, they only do online orders and such now for guitar parts.
The same guitar and amp techs are still there in the same shop and are now called Note Works. The Guitar Electronics signage is still up, or was last time I was there (this past March I think). They still do fantastic work on both guitars and amps and are incredibly nice people who go above and beyond. However, I understand about your driving situation. In the East Valley I don't know of anyone. 10 years ago I lived in Tempe and used The Music Store (as was mentioned here) but haven't been there in years now. Last I heard, the guy I mostly dealt with there (whose name I have forgotten) had moved away. Richard Beck was a massive a**hole to me when I was younger and had cheaper gear, and I never miss an opportunity to warn anyone not to use him. He could be the last guitar tech in the Valley and I would ship my guitar somewhere else for work before I give him one red cent. If you're willing to venture as far as Downtown/Central Phoenix, there's Precision Guitar just north of Indian School on 7th Ave, Jim's a good guy. |

Anyone ever use Buchanan Music in Mesa? They seem to be warranty service for many brands and have been around for 35 years. Doesn't necessarily mean they've been doing it right but I'd like to know if anyone has dealt with them. They are also much closer to the house than Precision Guitar. Also I saw on Gibsons website that neither Guitar Electronics or Noteworks is listed as a factory authorized service center anymore. Did they lose that when they split? Thanks for all the help.

From south Chandler it's a 2 hour drive to Rainbow in Tucson ...
Great guitar techs .... I love their set ups ..... OK for me on amps, but I've heard mixed reviews on electronics. Good Luck

I took my latest R0 to Mike Cutler (Sticks 'N Strings, he was formerly at Guitars Etc.) I paid him, athough it would have been free at Rainbow. His workmanship is the best I have experienced in my decades of guitar playing.

To me factory authorization means nothing. For the repairman, doing warranty work is unprofitable, and many avoid it.
+1 for Rainbow guitars.

Beware Guitar electronics - Note Works. Gary's dog, BB, is a ferocious half shizt zhu/pug mix who will lick you to death. Pet him once at your own risk
![]() I vote for these guys. Up front and honest.
