"old" Nobels ODR-1, how to check if it is the "right" one ?

Hi,

Today I will check a Nobels ODR-1 pedal. The seller is stating, that it is one of the old green pedals.

How can I check, if it is really an old one ?

Is there something additional to check, except of the sound ?

What do you guys think, is the value of such a pedal ? I know that lot of people like it, therefore it seems to be pretty expensive, compared to the newprice. I do not want to pay too much, but of course I am willing to pay a fair market price, if I like it. Maybe you can give me a rough indication ?

Thanks in advance!

I know I'll probably get blasted for this but I have a really hard time with the thought that an "old" version pedal Nobels, Boss, etc. would be significantly different (assuming the circuit hasn't changed)...just my two pennies worth but I feel that a lot of folks spend a lot of extra hard earned dough to get a "black label" made in Japan this or that and the tonal difference between that mojo box and a new one at 50% the cost is very minimal IMO....ok let the blasting begin

:-) Thanks for the comment. I fully understand what you mean. For me it`s just that " I want to have it" - thing, but I know, that there might be some "better" options that are even cheaper.

Anyway, I would appreciate if the topic does not go into the direction to discuss "is the old odr-1 better than the new one?"

For now, I would be very very happy to find out, how can I prrof that it is the old version and what is a rough price indication on the market for such a pedal ?

It's a good sounding pedal, no doubt.. IMO, better than the other legendary budget OD, Bad Monkey, at around HALF the cost, but definitely not in the same class as the real upscale stuff that's preferred around here. The pedal's very cheaply constructed, by comparison (to be expected at that price), wobbly knobs, iffy jacks, etc.

Paid 39 bucks for mine, brand new, and I really can't imagine paying more for a used one. Especially seeing as I've read that they all sound about the same, including the silver ones

They'd mixed up the pots on the first batch of silver ones, generating an internet myth that they're not as good as their predecessors. A buddy of mine snagged one for 10 dollars, reversed the pot positions, and when we A/B'd the two, there was very little difference
