Miss Piggy Packs a Wallop

Did a little technical testing on my new Pignose 7-100, and some of her dear friends.

I put as meter on the speaker terminals and adjusted the volume so that the output was = 1 watt

I jacked in the Tele, set the SPL meter one metef away on axis, and let fly.

The Pignose 7-100 unenhanced in any way and running off internal power (6 x 1.5v AA) put out 92 dB at 1 watt seen from 1 meter on axis.

Next I jacked in the extension cabs, wired to maintain the 8 ohm load, and so the same output voltage.

Miss Piggy led the choir, and the bunch of them cut loose with 102 dB. Note that besides the mini-cabs there was also a battery box,. putting 9VDC into the external power jack, but feeding it with twice as much power.

So there it is, a Pignose loves extra power, and gives it back
