Should I buy a MicroVibe?

Im looking for an inexpensive/ reliable "vibe" sound. Im just a bedroom hobbyist so a deja vibe is out of the question

Yes, it's a great vibe unit.

I'm happy with mine. I go back and forth between it and a Phase 90. Depends on the song really.

Yeah, no bells & whistles (vibrato mode) but a nice, compact, authentic sounding 'vibe, with true-bypass switching

I had an early one (no LED, mini-phone adaptor jack) made before they started building 'em with the switch attached to the board, and that's the model i'm recommending. I still see 'em cheap at pawn shops & consignment music shops

Of course, if you wanna go even smaller & cheaper, there's always the Dano Chicken Salad. Real 'vibe circuitry (photocell/light bulb configuration) in a tiny package. Best 29bucks I ever spent

The MicroVibe seems to sit in that middle ground of pricing, quality, authenticity, and re-sale value due to brand recognition and abundance of Youtube videos (don't laugh - this does affect resale value!).
It is a solid middle-of-the-road'er. If you were to start a Hendrix tribute act, then I'd say dig a bit deeper into your pocket, but if you just wanna 'get your Gilmour on', then it really nails it, IMO.

By the way, my fav way of getting the Floyd "Breathe" swirl going is a combination of vibe and a subtle, slow rotary effect.

Quite honestly - I preferred it to the Roger Mayer one.

Micro is more adjustable than the Pickle, and brighter. The Pickle uses different tech than the Micro, but the sound is still pretty close. The Haze also uses different methods to achieve (close to) the same results, but is noisier. There's a thumping beat you can hear in the background. At least mine did. The Haze can use an expression pedal to adjust speed. Nice for such a small footprint.

Micro Vibe is definitely good. It's got a deep swirl that only a real univibe (not a tweaked phaser) pedal can produce. It's dark sounding, but that's part of it's feel. Not for everyone, but it's a great, vintage sounding effect.

The Pickle is a less pronounced swirl, not quite as deep. It's also a little brighter. It can also get a little faster, which is cool for fast leslie type tones.

I'll just chip in that mine was terrible. What were the issues?

1: Killed my top end. "Dark" is an overstatement.
2: Couldn't go quite as fast as I wanted.

Still, I could have lived with both of these, but then

3: Pretty significant volume drop.

Yeah, seems like I may be the only one (though I've heard from other folks that this is a pedal that you should try out in person. Some nail it, others really suck).

I sold mine after only a week.
