I take my strap off every time I put it down. Grolsh washers are no good for me.

Schaller FTW.
I don't trust Dunlops. I returned a set after I about dumped my guitar twice, when it came loose.

Schaller. I kinda love the fact that they fit the strap buttons on my Duesenberg perfectly. No need to install strap locks!

I have been using these Sam Ash strap locks for years and love them. No alteratrions necessary and they fit most strap buttons except cats eyes. Easy on and off.

I had the same problem years ago-the bearings got jammed up and didn't engage as solidly as they're supposed to, and the strap came loose. I didn't give 'em a second opportunity, I switched to Schallers immediately and have never had a problem with them.

Schaller. I have them on 35 guitars at least.

I had Fender and Schaller, both sucked, and dumped my guitar. I have Dunlops now and have never came close to dumping my guitar. I don't like having to drill the screw hole out larger, but they do work extremely well.

Seriously, the Grolsch washers (or just regular black washers, around an inch across and 1/4 inch hole in the middle) are the most elegant solution. No drilling, no rattling, just squeeze 'em on and they work.
