College Bowl Games - How Many Needed?

I think it's up to 35 right now. 70 football teams making bowl games???? WTF???

How many more do we/they need? 30 of them are worthless as it is right now.

Discuss.

Why is is such a bad thing? It just means more football, just dont watch them if you dont care about the teams. I like the bowl games, it gives me one more chance to watch my favorite teams play out of conference games.

it gives the players something a little more fun and gives me something to watch on TV - The more the better if you don't like them do not watch

I hate the Lexus car for Christmas commercials and the guy that does the Ford stuff

It's all about money. Otherwise we'd have a playoff system.

Not a bad idea. After all, it would go hand-in-hand with the way kids have been raised the past twenty years.

Enter a competition, regardless of how well you do, get a trophy. Eat your breakfast, get a trophy. Sleep well, even though your sister slept longer, get a trophy. Finish 7th in a six-man 100 yard dash race, get a ribbon. Play little league baseball and go 0-16, get a plaque.

I think you are on to something here. Go to a mid-major university, go 6-6 overall and 1-5 in your conference, go to a football bowl game.

College Bowl Games - How Many Needed?

Just one more.

Like guitars.

Why not call the game Footbowl and only have bowl games.

I would stop all the soccer confusion.

Who exactly gets hurt by there being an extra bowl game or 30? I mean seriously, no one wining the Kraft Fight hunger Bowl is going home thinking they are the champion of the world. It is just one more opportunity for the players to play a game they love and for the fans to watch a game they love. While they are at it some people make some money. Seems like a win all around to me.

Go to a playoff system and watch the regular season games go to shit bc no one will want to book good teams in order to attain a better chance of getting into the playoffs.

Interesting idea.

But what happens to me is, I see one (unimportant) game and I (am allowed to) turn it off. Now, I suddenly have the power to turn all Bowl Games off. And we take the dog and go exploring foot trails.

I don't miss the Games until there's none to be had.

Most people have NO idea how corrupt the current system is, and who really is on the hook for Millions of Dollars each year. The ESPN report really opened my eyes to how unethical the various AD's are because they are given the Junkets along with the BCS organizers. And I had no idea how much the individual colleges have to pay for unsold bowl seats. It's criminal IMO.

More football is better.

There is no argument that can defeat it.
