Retro-Sonic in trouble?

Anything going on with Retro-Sonic? I used to have their Chorus, loved it, traded it to a friend for a pedal he wouldn't sell me. I went to buy another one just now and they are no where. None new on eBay. Half the dealers listed on Retro-Sonic website don't carry them anymore, etc. Really strange.

If anyone knows more about this please share. Or if there is some "new hottness" in the chorus world I don't know about, please share that too.

Still all for sale in my local boutique shop here in Vancouver:

Maybe they are taking a break for the holidays, or perhaps choosing to be more boutique, or who knows, maybe they want to distribute directly only?

The chorus appears to have been out of stock for a while, a friend has been digging the demos and has wanted to buy one, that was at least a couple of months ago. I have been checking regularly and it still remains out of stock from the main online vendors.

I read in the builder's/retailer's emporium that he ran out of parts for the chorus and wouldn't be making them.

Here.

And the quote:

"Retro-Sonic analog chorus - This is THE chorus to own....an exact copy of the original Boss CE-1 in a much more compact enclosure - There are NO more of these available from Retro Sonic as Tim is unable to source anymore of the Panasonic chips that make the magic happen."

Ah. that would suck. That pedal really bridged the gap between the dark thick analogman chorus and the flangy bright boss dimension c

I have the "eight-o-eight" overdrive that I love.

I'm surprised I don't hear more about it around here.

I don't like chorus much but the RS CE-1 clone was just simply one of the most beautiful, lush sounding pedals I've ever heard. Made my MIJ CE-2 sound tinny and thin by comparison.

I've got the RS Phaser and find the depth/mix knob to be the thing that sets it off from all the other Phase90 clones I've tried, very useful for a more subtle effect when it's called for.

anyway glad to hear they are still around I think they make great quality stuff

The DLS Chorus-Waves pedal is also a chorus pedal worth serious consideration, IMO. In my top tier, as is the Maxon CS-550.

The RS Phaser is the best phase 90 pedal with its extended tweakability.
